Dr. Brigitte Widemann obtained her M.D. from the University of Cologne in Germany where she also completed her pediatric residency. Subsequently she completed a fellowship in pediatric hematology and oncology at the Pediatric Oncology Branch, NCI, NIH. Currently Dr. Widemann serves as Chief of NCI’s Pediatric Oncology Branch. Her research program focuses on the clinical development of new agents for the treatment of refractory childhood and adult solid tumors and genetic tumor predisposition syndromes (GTPS), in particular neurofibromatosis type 1.
