Prof. Johan Frijns (MD, PhD)

Johan H.M. Frijns (1961) has a Masters degree in Applied Physics and an MD degree. His PhD thesis was entitled Cochlear Implants – A Modelling Approach. Since 1994 he is consultant otorhinolaryngologist at LUMC, where he founded the Leiden cochlear and auditory brainstem implant program, building on the growing body of translational research of his group. He is full professor in Otology and Auditory Physics,  and Chairman of the Centre for Audiology and Hearing Implants at LUMC.
